For many years this building was only toilets & waiting room, with the ticket office being in a small weatherboard building at the base of the stairs to Chester Hill Rd. Approx 15yrs ago the small building was destroyed by fire. The ticket office is now in the Up (right-hand) end of the older building.

The line is still intact from where it branches off the Main South, but has been truncated at the Blue Circle Cement works, which is a few km east (right) of this location.

Not much change apparent as yet as the train comes into Sutherland, bound for platform #1 in the left distance.

The Down road appears lower than the current line, but perhaps that will "even" out once track is laid.

Kirrawee platforms have been altered, and are now 10m longer than before. The original used to run to just the other side of the overline bridge. The effect is that the Up platform is less curved when a train dwells.

The overline bridge connects Clements Pde on the north side to Avery Ave on the south side.

Even when the home & starter signals change to clear, the train can't proceed until the flagman authorises the movement.
